The Outreach team is having another baby shower for Jesus to benefit the Chester County Hospital clinic as well as the labor and delivery department. The clinic originated in the 1970s in a trailer in Jennersville one day a week to address disparities in prenatal care and the large Hispanic population of migrant workers. The clinic opened on the ground floor of Chester County Hospital in 1981.
Today the clinic has over 5,000 patient visits and 500 babies born per year. The CCH OB/GYN clinic provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care to underserved women of Chester and surrounding counties. Women with no insurance (or who are under-insured) are served with many patients qualifying for free and reduced care.
Most of the patients that the clinic serves are without many resources, especially now that SNAP benefits have been revoked or reduced, including food, clothing, baby needs, transportation, etc.
The OB/GYN Clinic at Chester County Hospital is grateful for any donations. Their essential needs include diapers, new or gently used onesies, new or gently used newborn and 3 mo. clothing, wipes and baby blankets (new or gently used).
The labor and delivery department at CCH is collecting donations for antepartum patients. Most of these women are hospitalized unexpectedly for weeks at a time with families at home. Once delivered, many of these families become NICU families with their babies. We are collecting new supplies: Chapstick, adult blankets, adult pjs, body wash, lotion, fuzzy socks, nail supplies, water bottles, non-perishable snacks, refillable water bottles. We are also collecting new or gently used items to occupy these patients: puzzle books, board games, playing cards, coloring books, colored pencils, books, etc.
Please bring any donations to the church office (Monday-Friday 9:00am-1:00pm), or drop off to the office porch bin after hours, through December 22. You can also bring donations on Sundays to the Narthex during Worship Services. For any questions, please text or email Karen Astheimer at 610-212-6065 or email: karenlally79@gmail.com.
