Final harvesting for the fall season was completed this week. We donated a grand total of 1525 pounds of veggies to the Chester County Food Bank. Veggies we grew this year included romaine lettuce, butterhead lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, zucchini squash, yellow squash, tomatillos, several varieties of cherry tomatoes, several varieties of regular tomatoes, green beans (pole and bush), bell peppers, banana peppers, carrots, turnips, radishes, arugula lettuce, and kale. Last year we ended the season with 1330 pounds donated, so we were successful at surpassing our goal this year. Thanks to all of our gardeners for your efforts in maintaining the garden and for your generous donations to the food bank! With the garden at rest for the winter, we look forward to another great growing season next year!
