I became a member of St. Matthew’s in 1989 when I moved to Pennsylvania from the Washington, D.C. area. I quickly got involved in our “Sunday School” program; welcoming new families to St. Matthew’s; and church council. Most recently, I have been busy with our Outreach Ministry serving our neighbors near and far by supporting programs with the Chester County Food Bank, Manatawny Manor, Martin Luther School, Rise Against Hunger, St. Mary’s Franciscan Homeless Shelter, and The Lutheran Church of Holy Communion.
After working 15 years in the corporate world of personal computers, I returned to my true love of teaching elementary students. I retired just before covid (thank goodness) and now fill my time with volunteer activities, the Interfaith Action Community, gardening, reading, and extra time with family and friends. My husband, Ed, and I live in Chester Springs with our most recent rescue dog, LuLu. We have one son, Omar, and a grandson, Noah.
St. Matthew’s is a special place with a warm, welcoming community of believers. I am grateful for my years as a member, and I am happy to serve our congregation as a council member.
There is a place for you here.
We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God’s work in Christ’s name for the life of the world.
